Most young professionals would agree with me that the best way to escape the pressure and stress at work is by having a staycation. Take a break from your strenuous routine and book straight to Bluewater Sumilon!

Arriving at the pier, we were treated like VIPs already. With my hand holding a glass of lemon tea and my eyes pierced towards the island from afar, I felt the rush and need to be at the resort asap. The thing that impressed me the most about this resort is how their staff handled their guests. I’ve never encountered resort staff as genuinely cordial and courteous as those working at Bluewater. They’re unparalleled in this department.

The bridge to happiness.

Walking to paradise be like…

As an island boy, I felt so close to home here in Bluewater Sumilon. The resort is packed with a lot of island activities and during its season, the island showcases a breathtaking sandbar! The crystal clear waters encircled this paradise making it hard for me to get off the beach. Even at waist deep, the water of Sumilon is full of lively fish and vibrant colors making it perfect for snorkeling. We also got to kayak at the lagoon with rich mangroves surrounding it.

Fish-feeding at the lagoon.
Snorkeling. Bluewater lived up to its brand.

If you’re doing the whaleshark-watching, this is the best place to stay after that fun-filled popular activity. Sumilon island tour is usually one of the sidetrips to do while in Oslob area. However, please be informed that if you book through local operators, you will not be allowed to access the resort. You’ll only be able to swim at the public beach area of Sumilon Island. Tourists are often misinformed to think that they’ll be able to enjoy the resort services thru these local operators.

I particularly loved the afternoon tea party provided for us by Bluewater Sumilon. It’s also worth mentioning that the food here is simply perfection. From breakfast all the way to the themed dinner parties, everything is delicious! I won’t go technical about this as I’m not into food review but all I know is I left our dining table looking like 4 months pregnant. HAHAHA!

Breakfast buffet: ₱850
Lunch buffet: ₱1,100
Dinner buffet: ₱1,250

Where it all happens…

Bluewater Resort has a total of 30 rooms. We had the deluxe room with 2 queen size beds, a private veranda and my favorite, the very spacious bathroom! I wished it had a tub though but overall, I loved it! Check room rates HERE.

Most millennial travelers like myself are really into photos. Hashtag #InstagramWorthy! This place is every bit of that. I honestly enjoyed taking snaps more than anything during my stay here. I’ll support this statement by the number of photos I’m uploading for this blog post. Haha! The infinity pool is definitely one of the selling points of this resort. I loved how we almost owned that pool! It provides a great view of the sunrise, too. Other activities like beginner and advanced level trekking and also fish feeding at the lagoon can be enjoyed in the island as well. Too bad we weren’t able to check out the lighthouse.
