EAT. SLEEP. DIVE. LIVE. If this how you want your days to roll out, then you should check this dive resort in Negros, the LIQUID DUMAGUETE.

Take a dip.

Just a 20-minute drive from Dumaguete, LIQUID is located in Dauin. To get to the resort, you’ll be passing by a bumpy access road but fret not because what’s waiting for you when you arrive is so worth it. I brought my own car when I went there so there wasn’t really a problem. Signboards are strategically placed along the way. If you’re on a public commute, you’ll have to take a habal-habal ride to get there.

As a traveler, I’m very particular with receptionists. They have to create a cordial atmosphere with arriving guests. Liquid Dumaguete delivered just right. I loved how we were welcomed with great smiles from the managers and staff and of course, the welcome drinks! Liquid simply has this very light vibe. There’s not a lot of noise and rowdy guests. After checking-in, I started taking snaps of the resort from all corners.

Complimentary welcome drinks
For the book lovers.

I really appreciate the gorgeous landscape of Liquid Dumaguete. The varied plants and flowers complimented the native vibe of this laidback resort. I’m not really into plant photography but the plants were too good to pass off.

Their bamboo cabins beautifully outlined the coast of Dauin. Talk about, “waking up to this on a sunrise” post on Instagram. Haha!

That “woke up to this” moment.

One of my fave chill spots in the resort. <3

Every resort has to have this: POOL!

My scuba gears waiting for me. Patiently.

The pool at night. Lovely!

Going here, I never expected this resort to be visually arresting. The art installations and wall murals were so artsy. Ugh! Sorry for the lack of word! HAHAHA! I took more photos than planned. Liquid Dumaguete wrapped up my night in full delight. My favorite photography subject, the MILKY WAY, showed up unexpectedly! Sweet little moments, for sure.

The darkest night brings out the brightest stars.

via Dumaguete: Cebu Pacific Air have direct flights to Dumaguete City from Cebu and Manila, Philippines. For lowest fares, check HERE.

By van: You may arrange a private van transfer from any point in Dumaguete for ₱700/way.

By bus: Coming from Dumaguete either take a Ceres Bus at the bus station going in the direction of Bayawan, Hinobaan or Sipalay. Just tell the bus driver to drop you off at the FIRST Petron Gas Station. It will be on the left side of the road if you’re coming from Dumaguete. You’ll have to walk a good 10-minutes to get to Liquid though; or look for a habal-habal to bring you to the resort. Dumaguete to Dauin is ₱20 one way.

By tricycle: A more touristy and also most expensive possibility is taking a tricycle. The normal rate from Dumaguete is ₱200 Pesos. But if you are in a group of say 3, you might want to consider this. Note: Some drivers might charge a little more. Learn how to haggle.

Just like any resort positioned for an upscale market, rates for food could get a little pricey. Don’t expect a plate for a hundred here. Hahaha! However, I’ll always be that traveler who’ll pay much for food for as long it tastes good. Food in Liquid is sumptuous and delicious. Worth every peso you’re paying for. Budgetarian friends, sad to say, you might have a little concern here. Hehe

Home away from home as I’ve said.

Being a dive resort, it follows that they offer dive courses for licensed and non-licensed divers. For full rates, click HERE. I really had so much fun during my discover scuba session. My dive instructor, Berlinda was very well-equipped and very assistive. She made sure that my security was her top priority while we’re having fun underwater. With her help, I was able to identify a lot of sea creatures; more than my previous dives!

Hello, Belinda! <3
Look at that underwater kingdom!

Liquid Dumaguete also accommodates island hopping tours in Apo Island. There are also hot springs within the vicinity should you wish to take a dip and relax.

Liquid Dumaguete has individual beach front cottages outlining the coast of Dauin. The cottages are Filipino-inspired so it gives you that “home away from home feels”! They have 14 beach front cottages. To book, click HERE.
