Another activity we were introduced to when we were in Taiwan was the Blue Dye Culture. This cloth-dyeing technique has been around since ages in Sanxia DIstrict. Sanxia is known for the abundance of the dye-producing plant called, Da Jing and to maximize productivity and usage of this plant, they learned about the cloth-dyeing technique.

For this activity, we were taught the basic steps in dyeing our own cloth. I was amazed by the totally random abstract work of art I came up with. The limitations in design is endless; whatever floats your boat. Hahaha!

The one and only PINOYADVENTURISTA! Humbled to be able to travel with an inspiration from the PH traveling world.

First, you need to crumple, tie, fold, tie again and so on. Then as soon as you have that revolutionary design all done (masterpiece!), you’d have to start with the dyeing process. You’ll have to dip your cloth in a jar filled with dye, scrub the cloth consistently until the color sticks to it. It was a great arm exercise, as well. LOL

As soon as the color becomes prominent in the cloth, you may start untying and unfolding the cloth to reveal your greatest work of art! hahaha! Then, you let it dry and that’s about it!

Check last photo to know which one’s my design.

While waiting for it, we were treated at The Can Restaurant. Having a table filled with Taiwanese food was just the perfect way to wrap up is the fun activity.

And for the grand reveal…

PUSO!!! LABAN PILIPINAS! Nilaban ko talaga bandera ng Pinas dito mga kuys! 😛
